Rules Of Performance

  • This is a traditional deadlift event. Lift can be performed sumo or conventional.

  • The lifter can complete the deadlift in a "powerlifting" or "strongman" technique. Hitching and ramping is allowed.

  • Any style of grip is allowed.

  • The bar is lifted to the finishing position where the hips and knees are fully locked with the head and shoulders behind the bar.

  • Lifters will wait for the "DOWN" command to lower the bar to the ground. Hands must stay on the bar as it is lowered back to the floor. If the bar is dropped, the lift will not count.

  • Once the athlete reaches the required finishing position and the bar is lowered to the floor; that is counted.

  • Lifting format will be in flights depending on number of athletes with each lifter having 3 attempts. Each flight will perform all 3 attempts consecutively. For example, if 3 flights (A, B, and C), flight A will do all 3 attempts loaded progressively by weight. Then flight B will do the same followed by flight C.
